Surgeon finds 27 missing contact lenses in woman’s eye
This doesn’t sound real, especially for those who use contacts lens. Interestingly, it’s a true story.
Optometry Today published a story last week detailing an account of a woman who had 27 – yes – 27 missing contacts removed from her eye.
The “blueish mass” would have to be removed from the 67-year-old patient, who was unaware that they were missing.
An optometrist, Rupal Morjaria was quoted, saying “None of us has ever seen this before.”
“It was such a large mass. All the…contact lenses were stuck together. We were really surprised that the patient didn’t notice it because it would cause quite a lot of irritation while it was sitting there,” Morjaria elaborated.
“Because she had harboured these contact lenses in her eye for an unknown length of time, if we had operated she would have had a lot of bacteria around her conjunctiva,”
OT reports the patient didn’t report any symptoms but did complain of regular eye irritation which she attributed to being dry. She had been wearing contacts for 35 years.
“She was quite shocked. When she was seen two weeks after I removed the lenses she said her eyes felt a lot more comfortable. She thought her previous discomfort was just part of old age and dry eye,” Morjaria shared.
Great post. I was checking constantly this weblog and I am inspired! Very helpful information specifically the remaining part 🙂 I handle such information a lot. I used to be looking for this certain information for a long time. Thank you and best of luck.
I’m not sure exactly why but this web site is loading very slow for me. Is anyone else having this issue or is it a problem on my end? I’ll check back later on and see if the problem still exists.
This web page is really a walk-by for all the data you wished about this and didn抰 know who to ask. Glimpse here, and also you抣l undoubtedly discover it.
Excellent post however , I was wanting to know if you could write a litte more on this subject? I’d be very thankful if you could elaborate a little bit further. Kudos!
Hmm it looks like your blog ate my first comment (it was super long) so I guess I’ll just sum it up what I submitted and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog. I too am an aspiring blog blogger but I’m still new to everything. Do you have any helpful hints for beginner blog writers? I’d genuinely appreciate it.
