Child protection and child safety are a consistent issue in modern society. High profile abduction cases, newsworthy accidents involving toppling televisions, falls from windows and fires seem to indicate that child safety is increasingly threatened, whether or not this is truly the case.

One thing that is certain is that there is an increasing awareness of child protection and that there are new child protection devices, alarms and other gadgets on the market every day. Some of these are worthwhile, and others are not.
