McDonald’s Employees Hate This Big Change

McDonald’s recently announced it would be replacing its frozen patties with fresh real beef Quarter Pounders – all cooked to order. To keep things moving and still qualify their meals as “fast food”, McDonald’s installed cowbell buzzers (behind the scenes) every single time an order that requires fresh beef is placed.

In theory, this sounds like an efficient system where employees can monitor that patties are being grilled fresh and quick. However, now that the cowbell sound is up and running in some locations, employees are not happy.

 One employee described the sound as something “unbelievably grating”, “repetitive” and “annoying as hell”. The Reddit user added that everyone at their McDonald’s location hates the sound (except for his manager) and asked for suggestions on how to make it stop.

Another commented that the Mickey D’s they work at also has the new cowbell sound and it’s driving them insane.

In the end, the thread was settled that it’s pretty unlikely the sound will be shut off anytime soon. So cut your local McDonald’s workers some slack.
