Jose Mourinho had a typically blunt response when asked if he’ll take the reins from Zinedine Zidane at Real Madrid.Mourinho told Deportes Cuatro: “You can’t train a team that already has a coach.”

Zidane is under pressure at the Bernabeu following Paris Saint-Germain’s 3-0 win over Los Blancos in the Champions League on Wednesday.

The Frenchman splashed some serious cash in the summer to sign the likes of Eden Hazard, Ferland Mendy and Luka Jovic, but things are yet to click for Real Madrid this season.

Los Blancos have drawn two of their opening four fixtures, winning the other two, and currently find themselves third in La Liga.

The manner of their performances have disappointed fans, and Mourinho has been linked with a return to the hotseat in the Spanish capital.

But the Portuguese isn’t ready to pile pressure on the French World Cup winner just yet, making it clear he’s not looking to replace Zidane at Real.

Zidane won three successive Champions League trophies at Real Madrid before standing down to take some time out in May 2018.

Los Blancos fans went through two managers in Julen Lopetegui and Santiago Solari before Zidane returned for a second stint in charge.

The Frenchman was re-named Real Madrid manager in March after 10 months away.
